He's talking about what you can see (and smell) where the treasure is. Curious to know what everyone's interpretation might be, especially the part about pinyon nuts. Those trees only grow in certain areas.



He also mentions that he said one thing that he wishes he hadn't....


He mentioned Pinion by mistake. You can not tell the difference of Pinion smell vs general pine smell, it is the same. Also you cant smell a pinon nut unless its in your face and if you are holding a pinion nut you have harvested than your hands are covered in Pine sap and you likely won't smell it then.

Forrest only intended to say pine.
