TFTW/ Scrapbooks
Anybody have a list, or know of a list of scrapbooks which FF included in TFTW? I am debating on buying it. Thanks a million.

My opinion is that it is very different from TTOTC because it isn’t relevant to the Chase. The stories are nice and more memoir-like, and many of them are on the Old Santa Fe Trading blog.

Well, he said there was a clue in it. I've never seen what that clue is. I thought some of the scrapbook stories were included?

Didn’t he contradict himself a few times about tftw? I think he once said that there were a few hints. And he said one good hint. And he also said no hints, other than the “unintended” clue (or was it hint?). I’m not 100% sure...

He also said that no one had noticed the “unintended hint” and then said that it was the map that cutoff the Rocky Mountains at Canada. Pretty sure someone had noticed that.

Yes, lots of contradictions. I had thought it was that the 10 miles was too far to walk.

RE: TFTW/ Scrapbooks
What we are trying to do is make sure we have turned over every log. I haven't read the two last books and from where I stand they aren't necessary, but that being said we know how there can be a twist. I just experienced the big twist but just want to be sure. The execution cant be poor or hang up is in the binding, whatever. It's what to do after figuring it out that has me flumaxed. I did what I think is needed, I called him. Answering machine, in Fennspeak I described the title in a way only he would understand.

RE: TFTW/ Scrapbooks
There are 'errors' and such in each book. For example, the letter written by Amelia Earhart in TFTW has a glaring error, despite the fact that it looks like a photographic copy.

Errors are not mistakes.

OUAW has far more than TFTW as far as I have found. That said, I firmly believe that ALL of the materials produced by FF and cohorts are part of the overall puzzle regardless (and because!) of all of the admonishments against.

The children are told: Do Not Touch! Mr. Fenn encourages touching.

He was told: do not dig up artifacts. Mr. Fenn did so.

He says: Do not mess with my poem. This is really a memoir (despite dozens of obvious errors). Listen to authority.

But what he is really saying is: I want the person who is an independent thinker like me to win the contest.

The contest is not just the chest. That's the lure.
