Found Money Contest
I always picked up the pennies i would see on the ground, until one day I saw a small washer next to a penny.

As I reached down to pick up the penny, I realized that a washer cost more that a penny, and picked it up as well.

.

emmett,

A friend of mine told me that when he ran the vacuum, he wouldn't bother to pick up pennies on the floor (why they were there, I don't know). Said that he figured that, at his hourly rate, his time to pick it up was worth more than the penny. He wouldn't do well in this contest.

Boomergirl - let you conscience be your guide Smile I'll piok up money on the floor on the customer side of the counter of the grocery store, but not any they could be construed as being dropped by the cashier (that's store money).

Here are a few tips (places to look):

1) Chuck-E-Cheese, but only real money counts

2) Along the residential road curbside, especially near drains

3) Near the vacuums, at the car wash

4) Under the monkey bars at the playground

Lots more places, too.

I always figured that ditty - Shave and a haircut; two bits - was timeless. I wonder how many people "knock out" that rhythm without knowing from whence it came. Tap, tappy, tap, tap....tap, tap.

Ok Astree,

I'm in.

I found a dollar two years ago. "F" serial number. FF denies any memory of ownership. Did I touch George Washington?

@HIPS - haven't heard that for a long time (brought memories of my Dad). I did look it up and was especially interested that it was used by American captives in the Vietnam War to authenticate a new prisoner's American identity by tapping the first five notes against a cell wall, waiting for the correct response. Thanks!

Great. Let the game begin.

( I came up with a big nothing yesterday, the first day )

NTMI, someone pulled a big tease on you. When I first saw the picture, before reading the text, I thought you had such a lead that it would be nearly impossible to catch up.

Astree, that's in the treasure room of the Casa Bonita in the Denver metro area of Lakewood. One has to be brave to eat there, but if you have children you have to visit at least once. It's been in operation since 1969.

EDIT: The web site says 1974 but I remember going there years before I turned 14 in 1974. This past weekend I took my granddaughter there for her 14th birthday!

Very cool, I'd love to visit if I get some time in Denver.

PL289 - Are you counting it > I'm thinking about putting overflowing handfulls of quarters and dimes in the our girls hands, and chasing them around the house until they trip.
