Title to the gold
The chest and everything in it can be sold by anyone, no one needs title to anything. I strongly feel that title is a clue, as in royalty, or a name, but not a document.

I couldn't agree more! I read through the book and looked for things with titles, One title that I've found is Grand Marbles Champion so are we to look for something marble? One thing is made of marble is headstones, so title to the gold maybe is headstone is where the gold is.

It's actually not a chest he hid, but his book with a picture of a chest that has all those things in it. That's the thing no one has said to him....it's the took title. A chest wouldn't have title. Ok, don't believe that really.

So I just happened to talk to a nut specialist today who said the pinion nut from New Mexico only is harvested every 4 years and is valuable.

I agree there is an importance to/real meaning of "title" in the poem. For me, it ties with comments such as "surprise", "oops...", "thought of everything" and recently perhaps even "one important possibility related to the winning solve."

Part of my lifetime enjoyment of mysteries and other mental challenges has been to sense and leave myself open to the twists/unexpected endings. I believe that the "after" the chase may involve a document. That, and $2.00 here in New York (ironically) may only buy me a cup of coffee, but, for now, I will stick with my intuition/imagination and definitely some interesting research.

Rick, you made me smile when you mentioned "Fandango". I've experienced "The Thrill of the Chase" on/in Mt. Desert Island/Acadia NP 4 times now. It is close enough for us to travel (10 hours) that we have been able to bring our dog with us and especially enjoy our off season visits to see the peak of the Fall Foliage.

I was going to work on it again this winter, but have to admit that Forrest's hunt has my full attention. If the treasure is found this year....I'll take you up on that. Smile Thank you very much.

By the way, my above "title" comments are my way of saying that, just like in the "Wizard of Oz"....sometimes the treasure we seek is just in our backyard (New York). Don't mind the thoughts/ramblings of this great-grandma....our 4th Winter Storm in a two week period(Marcus) is now upon us. Can't complain, though, there is beauty in the snow too, and besides my dog thinks she is in "wonderland".

Thank you deb. I imagine many have a perception of New York, but where I live, along the beautiful Hudson River in the Catskill Mountains, I have the beauty of the 4 seasons, live less than 2 hours by "rail" to the "city" and less than 2 hours to the Adirondack Mts/Lakes and the mountains of Vermont. My driveway is 500 ft long and we live overlooking a pond with too many types of birds and critters to mention. We have had eagles and black bears (tore down my birdfeeder) also.

Speaking of travel by "rail". This week there was a horrific accident on the Metro North Harlem line, which parallels the Hudson Line I can take my grandkids to Yankee Stadium on. Sadly, 6 people died. There is still much to investigate....but circumstances and choices made by both the woman who's SUV was hit, the commuters who chose where to sit and perhaps the use of the "third rail" on that line made a difference. The commuters in the first car didn't have much of a chance to survive.

Life is precious and I like your "Be happy where you grow!".....hope you get more water there to help. I've never been to Santa Fe, but it's on my bucket list now.
