This thread looks at similarities between the <b>FANDANGO
</b> and <b>THE THRILL OF THE CHASE
</b> puzzles.

It is not expected that the information will help most with this hunt.

To start, in the following radio interview, at time marks ~ 8:00 and 9:40, the Fandango puzzle is referred to as

<b>"The Thrill of the Hunt"
</b>

Tight focus on a word that is key ... various appearances of "AS", via Forrest, have been previously documented

Again, returning to the "tight focus" theme, and looking at the grid on p. 11 of "Fandango" ...

Multiple words of the first line of Forrest's poem are found (shown in blue)

<b>AS EYE
</b> have gone alone <b>IN THERE
</b>

note "AS IN" contained in 4th column, "THERE" taken as anagram (as the grid is used in anagram form in Fandango - see hyperlink)

( for decall, you were looking at the Fenn's father ..and recently mentioned FEN DAD in Forrest's poem. the clock hands in the hyperlink point to the letters "DAD" and "MA" in row 3 )

This is weird.

.

.

Starting from his right ear the word "the" across his head you find " of the" and following that line to the word "chase"

.

.

Only word missing is "thrill"

True north, “thrill” has been replaced by “hunt” ( see post #1). Although, since Harley is obviously (worth the) cold, maybe “The Chill of the Thrace?” (p. 30)

As well, the Fandango white signs on signpost on p. 44 <b>is indicating to start at the white BOOK </b>(their acrostic). ( the non-pointed white NEPAL sign not used, it is also an acronym for <b>PLANE </b>- Forrest )

Hi astree. I like this thread idea. We may only see possible connections, but I believe it helps the brain move forward. As you know, I did look back through my Fandango notes and, having worked on Forrest's treasure now for 2 years, I found myself looking at Fandango's solve in a new way.

I do wonder if Forrest ever enjoyed doing Armchair mystery/puzzle books like "Masquerade" by Kit Williams in the late 1970's or even was aware of Fandango, since it came out in 2007?

Here's a thought"

Page 40 words around illustration:

"And Pie" on top

"Pass the Time" on the right

"Tea For Two" on the bottom

"A Feast of Words" on the left

"Pie" and "Time" are definitely used

"Tea" - Olga?

"Tea For Two" = 42 (pounds?)

Absolutely RP.

Look at the highlighted word there ... WISDOM .. if you've been wise ..

( by the way "AF East of Words" ... look back to page 19 .. you will find "AF" in image, to East of border words, specifically letters CE ..together, these again give the FACE which is scattered through those pages )

I can also tell that it relates back to p. 19 as follows:

p. 19 ... COUNT 2 THREE

and when you leave out the non-standard letter in

TEA F( )R TWO

the anagram

AFTER TWO

is produced

The "3 3" as shown per se in the border, as rotated parts of the WISDOM word. (this on date 3/3 ).. and as to the letter groupings in the phrase are 3 - 3(2) - 3

.

Now as relates to Forrest's site, and the letters surrounded by the TWO horns

Sounds like there could be a College Course titled "A tail/tale of two hunts....to compare Fandango and The Thrill of the Chase.

And then, in Forrest's own words (page 7 of "The Thrill of the Chase")..."Occasionally it's wise for the <b>FOX</b> to dress like the hound."

Shhh! Wink

Maybe, the Stockwells will see an increase in book sales!
