If I was standing where the treasure chest is...
Saw this on another board.

He's talking about what you can see (and smell) where the treasure is. Curious to know what everyone's interpretation might be, especially the part about pinyon nuts. Those trees only grow in certain areas.

He also mentions that he said one thing that he wishes he hadn't....

That is what I that at first too. I printed down my own map of where Pinyon pine grows. True it does not grow in Wyoming or Montana. Actually, it does not eliminate any states. He states pine needles OR Pinyon nuts. That leaves the door open for any kind of pine tree. Ponderosa pine grows in Colorado and Montana, and is the state tree of Montana.

Pinyon nuts from Wiki-The range is in Colorado, southern Wyoming, eastern and central Utah, northern Arizona, New Mexico, and the Guadalupe Mountains in westernmost Texas

So, the pine trees in Wyoming and Montana have seeds in their pine cones as do all pine trees.
. Sage brush, about 50 different types, grows all over the west. So maybe he wished he had not said I know the chest is wet.
