Considering the following:
* He doesn't want to pass on his wealth to his grand children to the point where they don't have to work, etc (He's mentioned the fact that during his time in the art business, he saw the damage that inherited wealth can do to someone).
* He insists that he will know when someone finds the treasure and even said at one point "I would almost bet my kingdom that nobody has found it".

I believe that he's planning to trade "his kingdom" to the person who finds the chest/bracelet. It might sound crazy, but, logically, how else could he be so sure that the chest hasn't been found? Since the finder of the chest will have done quite a bit of work and "earned" it, the wealth that comes along with finding it is earned as well.

If he was going to reward the finder with a ton of cash and assets he would have advertised that fact and created a chase frenzy. He could have created a dozen chests/hunts with all his wealth and artifacts. Im personally surprised he hasn't found an Aladdin cave to conceal his hoard and moved the contents of his vault there.

The chase is just a publicity stunt to make F a famous and possibly legendary figure. Im not complaining about that so long as the chase is fair and he is being honest about it. Im sure it will be mutually beneficial to F and the finder when this chase is over.

I disagree on him advertising the fact. If he did, it would bring more people to the chase (the same way that people buy Powerball tickets when it's $900 million, but not when it's $20 million). Also, it would cause a lot of friction with his family.

F has no kingdom to bet so that may just be one of his saying nothing with something

Have you seen the inside of his house? It's filled with artifacts, art, etc. He even has Sitting Bull's pipe, which is worth over a million dollars. I suspect that Forrest's net worth is somewhere in the 10s of millions.

Just an observation to consider and very well could be in error.
F has acquired great wealth and lives in a nearly castle and a nearly moat. It very well can be considered a kingdom at first glance which might be the distraction, if I may borrow that term.
