Deflection
Edited to add: As you read this, please realize I have no disrespect or animosity toward Cynthia, and since writing this post have gone back to hoD to read her post and I've posted some ideas about that further down in the comments.

I don't know about you, but the what if thing intrigues me, especially when a well-connected person who only posts here extremely rarely suddenly shows up to point out a certain page of TTOTC, drawing attention away from another page in the book. And not once, but TWICE. Both times drawing attention away from the Gypsy Magic blaze drawing to the drawing on page 99.

Could this be a deflection tactic I see ALL THE TIME?

I really think so. Why the sudden interest by this person to post here? There have been lots and lots of other opportunities for this person to post. There are lots of times people have posted that they thought Forrest was referring to them in a weekly word or scrapbook or whatever. So why now, well-connected person that never posts here and hasn't posted since?

It just convinces me even more that the blaze is in the chapter Gypsy Magic. Have at it, girls and guys.

I'm not sure if I'm right, but I see Wind River, Wyoming, under that blaze. I see Roman numerals. I see things that line up perfectly with other pages of the book, and the POEM.

And I don't know why I'm saying all this. Maybe to just let the deflector know that I'm not deflected. Lol.

Study that Gypsy Magic chapter. There's lots of info in the words AND the drawing.

And yes, Allen Polt did draw it. He will tell you that. But ask him if Forrest added anything to the drawing afterward...crickets.

When the wind blows from the East in the Spring, the weather is WARM.

Oh, and I don't blame this person for attempting to deflect. I've used deflection in the past, and I'm sure everyone who is serious about finding the TC has used it, too. Now, I don't rely on that tactic, though...I try to post helpful information, but not ENOUGH information. However, if someone uses my info to find it, I'm okay with that. Smile

RE: Deflection
I had lunch with Cynthia yesterday (I am assuming this is your well-connected person). She told me about her posts here, and I was shocked that she even posted here at all. She doesn't often share her ideas with anyone besides a couple of her very trusted friends.

She had some great ideas about Forrests' 'what ifs' statement.

What nefarious plans do you think she has? Cynthia is brilliant, and also happens to be the nicest and most trustworthy human I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Maybe she is on to something, or maybe she finally decided to share an idea with you, and you knock her for it? That doesn't seem very nice.

Jamlady,

I'm not knocking her at all. I agree with you. I haven't met her, but she seems like a wonderful person.

It wasn't my intention to blame her for any "nefarious" actions.

I was just calling attention to the "aberration" of her sudden posting.

I don't think she has a mean bone in her body. But I also know that she has a lot invested, as many people do, and when people get close, there's a natural tendency to distract.

If anything, I think it was a brilliant move on her part.

Mindy, You need to go reread my La Caja Pueblo Part three search story...I do in fact, not only mention, but show a picture of, page 43 Gypsy Magic, because I used it in my solve as well. You need to look at the big picture and reread all my search stories on HOD if you want to keep up...

And if anyone took my comment the wrong way, I apologize.

Cynthia, from all I've heard, is a sweet and caring person that I look forward to meeting at Fennboree.

Cynthia,

I've read it, but will go back and read it again. I meant no disrespect to you.

I notice patterns and associations and subtle differences...and that is why I posted this thread...

RE: Deflection
I've just read Cynthia's post again, and I will say that she has some REALLY good observations. I wouldn't rule out her what it's being THE what if's. Maybe it's a combination of those two drawings (and possibly others), that when pieced together, form "the big picture." What if all or some of the drawings are pieces of the treasure map? Just like in the movies, you have to find all the shreds of paper to put together the map. And just like pieces of ancient pottery excavated from a ruin, you have to painstakingly glue all those pieces together to see the entire jar, the big picture.

So, Cynthia, I apologize if I came across as harsh. That wasn't my intention.

That gypsy drawing is strange, isn't it.

RE: Deflection
The whole chapter is strange. Did you know it also has 24 lines, just like the poem? There are lots of words in that chapter with double letters. Lots of poem words.

And the drawing is crazy with the all the "additions."

I think my next two hot spots will show the other things I found on page 99, and in the gypsy drawing, and the ongoing theme of gypsy's all through the book. Gypsies are EVERYWHERE! Smile

Jam lady why would you be shocked...are you both to good to post here? Lolol.....as far as I can tell Cynthia is an over sharer who basically told everyone where she was searching and why. She doesn't appear to be someone who keeps anything to herself. If she were brilliant then she wouldn't be telling the world where she thinks this thing is, or tell the world Charmays little secret that she shared about where Fenn's special place is.

Maybe she isn't searching there anymore. If that's the case, she is brilliant. Smile

Or maybe, like me and others, she shares what she knows, but not ALL that she knows. She knows by doing that, she is risking the chest being found by someone else, but she also knows that sharing will open up dialogue, possibly giving her information she'd previously missed.

Also brilliant. Risky, but brilliant.
