Funny, I have some of those webcams in my favorites from last winter. No particular reason, I just like to check the weather in my state. Ya know, just for the H of it. Boo

P.S. Thanks for the info.

That's a good Idea, Hopefully others will add more for other areas. But I'd like to ask if anyone know of a site that has free downloadable maps of areas all over the USA. I'm looking more for Topographical and Grid maps. I have used many sites with zooming maps, GPS co ordinates, Google Earth etc. But downloading is either to small or just doesn't work.

Any Info would be appreciate. Thanks

Google earth has layers you can install for grids. Google "google earth layers" and you'll see sites to download them. Email me if you can't find them.

I use the WY webcam in the winter. It can be fine in Casper and awful in Wheatland. The stretch between there and Cheyenne can be treacherous.

I’ve been in Colorado working for a week or so…….What a mess. If he hid the chest on the Front Range it’s scattered and buried under sludge…..or maybe got washed into someone’s living room. Smile

@Seeker:

You are correct topo maps contain a lot more information than regular maps. There are lots of free topo maps online but be careful some are not as accurate as others. USGS has a nice map viewer and fairly recent maps with different data layers. You can find them here:

The best programs are of course the ones you buy……I have several and use Terrain Navigator Pro, Delorme and Delorme X-map the most right now…….the ability to add your own data sets and locations are very handy. I think I’ve got a topo of every square inch of the Rockies…..and most of the western US for that matter and I still don’t have the chest. Sad

Seeker,

I find it nice to use the online Topo maps. I use the snipping tool in windows to capture a nice clean picture of the area I'm interested in and then it allows me to print it out. It reproduces the screen image perfectly.

The roads in Rio Arriba County (northern New Mexico) have been well trashed by flooding, but the county has been doing a very good job getting the roads open again. Forest roads however are not being maintained, let alone repaired.
