Presently 45* in Cody with an expected high of 52. Driving there isn't an issue unless you try to take Hwy 14A which is closed. We really haven't had any snow for about a month.

High wind warning today with sustained winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph. This will be followed by a Winter Storm Warning with temps dropping to -15 snow ill be heavy in certain parts of the state. Winds will be out of the north with gusts to 30 mph causing drifting and blowing snow. Not a good time for treasure hunting.

For all intents and purposes, WY is closed. Every town's temps are hovering around zero with wind chills about -20+. Tonight the temps will be -15 TO -25. We won't hit 32 until next week. MT and CO are just as cold. Personally I'm not going anywhere!

Got your email...will respond in a few. I just find it funny that you guys close an entire state when we only close schools and maybe a business or two. You are a tough bunch.

We're set for our second mild day ( highs in the 30's) before the bottom falls out again. They've cancelled Winterfest, up on the mountain due to a Winter Storm Warning....here we go again! Lots of snow with the high temps below zero.Everyone is really sick of this. I heard yesterday that there is a 125 inch base at the ski hill in Jackson. The area that impacts our water is the South Central mountaims...they're anywhere from 130 to 149% of normal. Unfortunately it's going to be a short "searching" season in our great state.

There are a lot of thunderstorms all over WY. They are warning of flash floods. These storms will pop up in the afternoon for the next 3 or 4 days. I don't how many of you saw the footage of the super cell a few days ago...it was between Wright and Newcastle. Most of the storms are in the southern part of the city, but they put out a warning for the Cody area. A couple of years ago some campers were killed when the bridge they on was swept away.

The Supt of YNP was on our local news 2 nights ago. He did not mention treasure hunters. All he said was the rivers are running high and the bears are hungry!
