Weather In Wyoming
We're set for our second mild day ( highs in the 30's) before the bottom falls out again. They've cancelled Winterfest, up on the mountain due to a Winter Storm Warning....here we go again! Lots of snow with the high temps below zero.Everyone is really sick of this. I heard yesterday that there is a 125 inch base at the ski hill in Jackson. The area that impacts our water is the South Central mountaims...they're anywhere from 130 to 149% of normal. Unfortunately it's going to be a short "searching" season in our great state.

There are a lot of thunderstorms all over WY. They are warning of flash floods. These storms will pop up in the afternoon for the next 3 or 4 days. I don't how many of you saw the footage of the super cell a few days ago...it was between Wright and Newcastle. Most of the storms are in the southern part of the city, but they put out a warning for the Cody area. A couple of years ago some campers were killed when the bridge they on was swept away.

The Supt of YNP was on our local news 2 nights ago. He did not mention treasure hunters. All he said was the rivers are running high and the bears are hungry!

@samsmith - you never know with weather! We drove a loop through 3 of the 4 states earlier in the month. Most days were absolutely beautiful with temperatures around the 70's. We woke up to those 5 inches of wet snow in Wyoming on the morning of September 11th. Our rental car's tires didn't stop us from hydroplaning! Be safe.

Last week it was down right hot in most of the state. High 80's. Then a front went through...40's and 50's predicted for this week. Remember that the forecasts are generally aimed at the towns that are typically at 5,000 to 6,000 ft elevation. When you get higher up in the mountains, the weather can change in a heartbeat. Rain becomes sleet or snow as the elevation becomes higher. Make sure that you have adequate clothing.

RE: Weather In Wyoming
A major front is moving into NW WY this week. 2+ feet of snow is expected in the YNP and Grand Teton areas. The roads, with the exception of the N and NE entrances, are now closed. Rather late this year, but here we go!
