I think it is. That is, if you solve all of the other clues first and then are able to recognize the blaze, and then interpret "look quickly down" correctly.



IMO if you have the blaze and understanding of lqd, you could hand someone that info and they could walk right to it.

At least two parties have been at the treasure site, looking for the chest,(confirmed by Mr. Fenn), nothing at all that drew their attention toward the chest. But they were only at the site by chance, and had not figured out the clues. James

It's a personal place to him that he found and he says some others have come across it since then. He's said that two parties figured out the first two clues. He's said that several have been by it. Then he clarified the comment several as "more than two, but not many".

I speculate that if he brought a flash light and a sandwich into the forest it is thick and dark in that area and lighting is poor
