"As the crowd moved to the next tee the binocular guy was noticeably teetering to the starboard side."

Binoculars give you tight focus.
Another way of saying the above would be . . .

As the search party moved to the next idea, the guy with tight focus was noticeably moving to the correct spot.

crowd = search party
tee = idea
teetering = moving
starboard = accurate, correct, right
side = spot, position, direction

So the binocular guy is gaining some kind of advantage by deception?

The binocular guy is not playing in the game, but standing thirty feet away, not even caring about how others play the game. He just wants to bet here cause it's cool or something, and sneak drinks when he thinks no ones looking.watching.

But F is watching, and when the guy blows his cover by hiccupping, F thinks it's unfortunate, because the guy had a real chance at staying undercover, but he blew it.

That's all I got on that so far...I'm too caught up in these places revealing themselves as I plod along my solve-thing.

RE: The Binocular Guy
My take on it...

-The binocular guy is a security camera watching the chest.
-The security camera is 30 feet from where Sam Snead(the searcher) was putting.
-Forrest is watching through the camera at home as it goes down.
-Forrest noticed the security camera was cocked to the right as Sam moved on from where he/she was looking (putting).
-Notice the binoculars guy drawing? Looks like he is throwing a bunch of balls?
-I was throwing salt onto the snow in the front yard of the house and holding a can of diet soda (hydration for the flu). Not saying that's what it is... but just showing how many ways it could be viewed.

And to play devil's advocate to my own theories... I wasn't wearing a hat Wink

I travel a lot and find interesting things. My travels have been limited to east coast, Alaska and Caribbean countries but when it comes to the Rockies I find interesting stories that seems to be attached to what seems a random spot?
I was recently on Pikes Peak and at 13,000 feet I found this sign, it reminded me of when Forrest said just before lightning hit the ground he jumps [Image: e567d412f2637a13ae71b090e2fecdc1.jpg]

Nice insight Will. The BG is an interesting addition to the whole story. These occurrences are not all that uncommon, whether it happens a pro event or when playing a round casually with friends. The problem is getting so drunk you can't control yourself. That, quite frankly is unacceptable, not to mention dangerous. Drinking while playing golf ended for me years ago...bad combo. The sheer amount of alcohol at sporting events is crazy these days. I avoid the bad ones when possible, but have attended pretty crazy events (concerts, pro-football, etc) when the tix are cheap or better yet, free. Haha.

Would you believe they race cars up Pikes Peak? There's a train that goes up to the peak? The base of it is Garden of the Gods?

All I'm saying is there is a lot that can be subjective to ttotc
