Poll: Does "it's there in spirit" mean he is still intending on giving the person that finds the chest $100K if they come forward, assuming the IOU is not in the chest?

Interesting, please tell me more.

Ok... I thought about it and can tell you more without revealing too much.

inside the chest is a title deed and key to a house and property. To ensure that the package of 100,000 in 1,000's and 500's would not erode, he has them safely tucked away inside the house. Now that is just my theory at this time. Those are the top two items in the chest that he said the finder would like.

I like that theory; I hope it's true. If the house is in New Mexico I hope it has a pool.

He would have to have some set up to pay taxes and insurance on the property but that's not too far to walk.

I think both theories might fail the 1000 year Fenn timeline.
He said he took the IOU out of the chest because he was worried his bank wouldn't be around.
So the same would be true for a safe deposit box or a house.
I was really looking forward to that pool, oh well.

database tomatopaste.

What ? So now we're back to favorites again ?

Bullhockey.

If I thought for one effin' minute that Fenn was that chicken***t, I'd burn his book and every bit of the research I've done and turn and walk away and never look back.

I'm not cut like that. I will not be a part of some friggin' Peyton Place.

Gimme a friggin break.

Geeze.

I guess I'm SOL already then, cause I say what's on my mind.
Oh dear, I've been a bad bad boy and now I find out that Fenn is keeping a record of all of my smartass comments and it has cost me 100k.

I swearda gawd.

Iron Will, Thats an interesting theory, but why a house. Why not the key to a safety deposit box.

Because its a privately owned property. It is the only way the finder can have the treasure full and clear. sign the title over, and the property becomes yours. Everything on said property them becomes your property, including the chest. It's the only airtight legal way. Besides... remember the weekly words?

"If you wear a smile to the right spot you will wear a grin going home. f"

the smile and the grin are the exact same thing. The spot is the property with a house that becomes your home. Or at least that's my theory. I don't want to force any ideas on ya. Smile

"I don't want to say anything more about it, but that they will be pleased when she sees it".

Think about all the old movies back in Forrest's day where the guy blindfolds his wife and then takes her blindfold off and shows her their new house. Tongue

I agree. There is nothing chicken poop about providing an incentive for hundreds of thousands to get out and enjoy the Rockies he has spent his life enjoying. In his gallery business I guarantee he kept records on his customers, he'd be stupid not to. He may just still be doing the same thing. Why wouldn't he want to try and keep all the various searchers straight. To me that shows he's smart. If someone doesn't like the fact that it is his game, he made it up, and he makes the rules. Then they should take their chicken poop attitude and don't let the door hit them while they find another game to play or make up their own. That includes people who think that people dieing while searching is some earth shattering catastrophe that ff is somehow responsible for.

"We have heard through certain searchers (not willing to say who, so don't ask) that he keeps files and notes on searchers. If that is true does he give a 'good searcher' list to his lawyer/trust admin? "

This is what I had a problem with ^^^.

Now tell me, what the hell does that have to do with 'incentive'?

" Why wouldn't he want to try and keep all the various searchers straight."
Boy, he's sure did some wonderful work in that department, hasn't he ? Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by straight ?

To be brutally honest, it is way past the point of obnoxious to read any more of the 'Oooooohhhhh, look at me, I'm special because Fenn tells me stuff that he doesn't tell anyone else. And I've been to his house sooooooooo many times and rubbed elbows with him and schmoozed it up with him. And he even showed me THE DATABASE that he keeps on all of those searching for his treasure.'

(OH MY GOD ! Not the DATABASE !)

Excuse me while I throw up.

You people that think Fenn is playing favorites crack me up.

Someone please screenshot this and send it to him so he can put it in my 'file' and send it to his lawyer. ROFLMFAO.

Oh boo-hoo, I was smart enough to find the $million TC but now F won't give me the 100k because he doesn't like me. Poor little me, that's just not fair.

You know what that white stuff is on chicken poop ?
That's chicken poop too.
