Another simple solve for anyone in the area

Another simple solve for anyone in the area
Same starting point as initial belief, but opposite direction.

1. WWWH - end of Mississippi River and Clarks Fork Yellowstone River in Cooke City, MT (passing through L Bar T Ranch where Hemingway wrote portions of his books); warm waters referring to Gulf of Mexico
2. Canyon down - Beartooth Highway - Highway 212
3. home of Brown - Montana (Birdie Brown, Mt. Brown)
4. No place for the meek - Top of the World
5. No paddle up your creek - Rock Creek (back into Montana)
6. Heavy loads - Limber Pine Campground
7. Water high - Greenough Lake Campground
8. Blaze - Greenough Lake (?) (heart-shaped lake)
9. Tarry scant with marvel gaze - Rock Creek Vista

Not great, but meh!

RE: Another simple solve for anyone in the area

It can be approached from the other end starting with:
1. Glacier Lake
2. Canyon down - Highway 214
3. home of Brown - Montana (Birdie Brown, Mt. Brown) into Wyoming
4. no place for the meek?
5. Same
6. Same
7. Same
8. Same
9. Same

I'd like to believe these are the gold and purple flowers he speaks of:
