Not sure exactly what you mean by ‘the key’ in this context.

As keeper of the key and a topic titled Tight focus with a word that is key I figured 'the key' was obvious haha.

I thought he confirmed the word that is key.

I s'pose if y'all are busy with just one word that is key, then I feel pretty lucky, I've lost count. :-)

Haha...just wanted to be careful as I think there’s been a few different contexts of the word key that’s been used on this thread.

F confirmed that a few searchers were in tight focus with a with a word that is key. That could just mean they were thinking the right thing and got the concept right of a key word or it could mean other possibilities that he didn’t go into further detail with. No one ,besides f, knows if the original few had focused on the correct word or if anyone has since. But if you take the context of different messages put out by f to searchers one on one it tends to lead to a word that is key can be helpful in the Chase, IMO.

RE: Tight focus with a word that is key
Considering the number of people who have analyzed each word of the poem into the ground, there is no doubt that some have been in tight focus on a word that is key. Therefore, Fenn knows that some people have been in tight focus on a word that is key. It's kind of a no brainer. Trying to read any more into it than that is pretty much speculation.

Is it safe to guess that it is either warm, waters, or halt?
Seeing as though he repeats that we must figure out the first clue?

You’re correct that f stresses that we have to figure out the first clue. It’s just my opinion that whatever leads us to the correct wwwh involves a hint in the poem and a few hints in ttotc. I believe there’s a hint in stanza one that does use a keyword from each line. I’ve written often of how I see the certain words in the first stanza as ingredients in a recipe. Once you recognize the ingredients and that they are used in a specific order then you get to see what dish they produce. Lol

Easy peasy on the source of my earlier comment today...
