Yes, if there’s any word someone wants me to look up, let me know here or by PM and I’ll be happy to give you the result...

we need to halt, or pull up on those reins a little, you know what i mean

there are a lot of possible connections here

so many that it's hard to know which one to take aim at, unless you're a glutton for punishment

when i say a lot, i mean the opposite of not a lot of something

i think i explained that to f by private email one time

Chris,
I still want to know why you used the word “pugnacious” the other day...

RE: Archaic word meanings
i got it from the poem and the right map

but it is true that the poem was written by a "someone"

so in that sense, i suppose i got it from "someone"

that is not absolutely confirmed unless i have chest in hand

Mindy, I've had your number for a long time. Try this one.

Had my number? What’s that mean?

Anyway, CONTRARY in the archaic dictionary:

1. To go against, vex, or oppose
2. Opposite
3. Different

Contrary is an interesting word in language.

For example if you say:

“All cats are terrible and evil” it’s contrary would be “Not all cats are terrible and evil,” and it’s opposite would be “No cats are terrible and evil.”

The placement of certain words is very important! Smile

Oh, beees a couple more I just found that I think are interesting:

ARC: a mates tail cloud, or cirrius, in the form of a streak crossing the sky.

ARCHER: the bishop in the game of chess was formerly known as the archer.

ARCHAIC has its origins from a word that meant “beginning.” So technically, “archaic” means “new” and “old.” Smile
