Make me an offer!
Hi all!
Smartest Fenn searcher on the planet here planning my second and hopefully succesful trip to what I believe to be the final location of Fenn's treasure. I followed all clues I could make sense of and they led me exactly where I expected to; a hidden top shaft with a shallow creek by it. The shaft is flooded; I know nothing about mining so I found it and flew back to Florida and it's been exactly 1 year. I am going back to it in about a month. If you'd like to be a partner let me know what you have to offer Smile Open to someone knowledgeable in flooded mines or someone with the financing to recover the treasure as safely and legally as possible. I can't say too much about the solve on this forum but I can say I have tried my hardest to make this fit everything he ever said without too far of a stretch. I would certainly welcome any questions from the right person!

Thrilled

Ps: thanks to everyone on this forum; I've spent countless hours reading a lot of what you've written too Tongue

It's not a mine or a tunnel. It's a shaft.

In mining a shaft is considered a vertical tunnel. Anyways,

You’re a idiot if you go into a flooded shaft!

Ask yourself this: Why would this be the spot? I think we can all agree that the final spot must have some significance -- either actual significance or even symbolic significance. A spot that's merely a clever hiding space won't make the cut.

RE: Make me an offer!
Do me a favor and send the following message to Forrest before you explore that place:

"Dear Forrest,

Please do not feel bad about my death, and perhaps the death of my partner. It is not your fault! You warned all of us many times not to search in dangerous places. You said the chest is not in water. Many searchers have reminded me of these comments. But I was stubborn and refused to listen!

In these circumstances, you have to let Darwinism take its course. We need to "thin the herd" at times, and who better to volunteer than someone like myself with questionable judgment and a daredevil approach to high-risk situations.

Thank you Forrest for the Chase, and sleep well at night knowing that you tried to avoid these situations. You can only do so much.

Sincerely,

thrilledtochase"

P.S. Have you considered using an underwater camera or an underwater metal detector first?

That's perfect, Beavertooth!

We need to type that up on letterhead and leave a place for a signature on the bottom. A response with that as an attachment is all that needs to be said in some cases.
